Herring Gull

Years ago my husband and I enjoyed visiting the North Shore of Lake Superior where I did many sketches and took dozens of photos of sea gulls. We saw lots of Herring Gulls around the area of Grand Marais, Minnesota, one of our favorite places to paint. It has been a while since we have made the trip and I have really missed the place. Doing a painting from the sketches and photos have made me feel as if I were there again. I loved the blues and azures of the water on this rare peaceful day.
Herring Gull was painted in oils on stretched, wrapped canvas, standard depth, about 5/8 inch thick. All the edges have been painted and no staples are showing. The painting may be displayed without a frame but would also look beautiful in a frame of your choice. Frame is not included.
