A symbol of the American West, the North American Bison has all but disappeared from the Great Plains. Often called "buffalo" these giants once roamed the prairies, providing food and clothing for the Native Americans and early European settlers. I began painting them only recently, after receiving commissions for "buffalo paintings," I am fascinated by these massive creatures and find them unlike anything else I have ever encountered.
