A lovely lady from my garden. Each spring I look forward to seeing the iris bloom again, and the white ruffly ones have always been a favorite of mine. This one makes me think of a dancer in a beautiful frothy gown.
This painting was rendered in acrylic on a gessoed wood panel.  The paint was applied in thin layers and with subtle blues and violets in the shadows, giving it a lively, dimensional appearance. It is unframed.

Huge sunflowers have been planted in our garden, but this little one came up on its own in another area of the yard. Most likely it was left there by a bird or perhaps an industrious squirrel who visited one of our feeders. Doesn't quite look like the others, but it does add its own little splash of color to the property and like its bigger relatives, it always follows the sun.
