Sparrows fascinate me. Many birds who arrive singly or in pairs, but sparrows come to the feeder as a family group. Like hungry diners at a buffet or church pot luck, they seem to enjoy being together as much as they do the meal. They may not be blessed with the brightly colored feathers or lovely songs of other birds, but they have a wonderful time.

It is always a treat to see red foxes hunting in the fields just outside of town. Sometimes they bring along their adventurous and energetic kits, but then very little serious field work is done. They seem to be a fascinating combination of dog and cat. I could watch them all day and never tire of painting their beautiful rust-colored coats and their incredible eyes.
